Turing Foundation supports To Be Worldwide

15 April 2007

Turing Foundation commits € 50,000 to funding a significant part of To Be Worldwide’s second Educational Resource Centre at Komenda.

The Turing Foundation is a private fund based in the Netherlands that focuses its activities on Art in Holland, and Education, Nature and Leprosy  in the developing countries.

The Foundation was established in 2006 by Pieter Geelen, using the wealth he acquired as co-founder of TomTom NV, a company listed at the Dutch stock exchange. The foundation was recently awarded the official Charity status by the Dutch fiscal authority. With this generous donation, combined with the donations from many of our other partners, To Be Worldwide will be able to commence the building process as planned in summer 2007 and open its doors to the children in Komenda in 2008.

We – and the community in Komenda - are very grateful and excited about this donation.

Dr. Cobbah, Head Development Chief Komenda Region said, “we are very excited that the building process of the Educational Resource Centre will be able to take of soon. We on our part will do everything to facilitate the process. The Regional Minister, Hon. Ato Arthur, has pledged his full support for the project”.
