Takoradi, 28 November 2008 To Be Worldwide has commenced building the Cape Coast Educational Resource Centre (CCERC). The location is Pedu, a suburb of Cape Coast, in the Central Region of Ghana. The location is within a 10-minute walk from a cluster of public schools. We will be servicing 12 schools with 5500 students. The Cape Coast Educational Resource Centre will be based on the successful concept of the Takoradi Educational Resource Centre. | | The plot is 40 x 40 meters and belongs to private owners who runs a Montessori primary and junior secondary school on the adjacent plot. This will allow their students to use the Centre as well. To Be Worldwide has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U) with the owners of the land giving us a lease on the land for 99 years and the right to an extension. The signing of the M.O.U was witnessed by a member of the District Assembly | ToBe has received funds from Turing Foundation, Fondation Les Paquerettes, Wilde Ganzen and the Western Union Foundation to build the Centre. The contractor who has taken on this task is the same company who built the Centre in Takoradi. The ground breaking ceremony and the laying of the foundation took place in October - November 2008. We expect the building to be completed in the autumn of 2009. |
